About Money for Life
Money for Life is a financial capability and personal money skills programme that aims to embed vital money management skills in further education (FE) sector institutions or community groups.
Financial capability is having the knowledge, skills, confidence and motivation to manage your money well. This includes understanding financial products, being able to use them and having the confidence and motivation to do so[1].
The Money for Life programme provides two fully-funded qualifications:
- Teach Me Financial Capability: An online course in financial capability that will improve your knowledge of financial topics.
- Teach Others Financial Capability: A two-day course which will enable those who are not qualified teachers – such as community or advice workers – to plan and facilitate financial capability sessions and workshops.

Money for Life also recently launched the Money for Life Challenge, a new national competition geared to learners between 16 and 24 years old in the FE, work based learning and adult community learning sector. The goal of the Challenge is to find the most successful and innovative projects young learners can use to improve their money management skills and those of their friends, families and communities. £500 grants are available for eligible organisations.
